July. Haifa's Mayor, Dr. Einat Kalisch Rotem and her deputy, Mr. Nahshon Tzuk, met with the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cyprus, Mr. Savvas Perdios and his team to discuss a number of issues important for the evolvement of tourism in Haifa, as well as for strengthening the economic cooperation between Cyprus and Haifa.
July. The Israeli Consulate in Chengdu is currently promoting tourism between the two countries, specifically following the launching of flights from Israel to Chengdu, a twin city of Haifa. Continuing the tendency to strengthen the ties with the twin city, a delegation from Chengdu, headed by deputy secretary general of Chengdu Municipal Government, Ms. Liao Chengzhen, has arrived in Haifa.
July. A delegation, headed by Mrs. Martine Vassal, President of the Province's Departmental Council, visited Haifa For the inauguration of the sculpture called "Tree of Peace".
Two years ago, the Province donated the statue, which is placed at Krieger Center. Mrs. Vassal came to Haifa with a large delegation consisted of representatives of Muslim, Armenian and Catholic communities from the province of Bouches-du-Rhône and government official,. in order to promote and strengthen the cooperation between Haifa and Bouches-du-Rhône. In 2018, Mrs. Vassal was appointed President of métropole d'Aix-Marseille-Provence, which after Paris District, dominates the largest district-urban-regional budget in France. July. Bastille Day - the most important national holiday in France - was celebrated at the French Consulate's garden, decorated in the colors of the French flag. French Ambassador in Israel Ms. Hélène Le Gal, French Consul in Haifa Patrice Servantie, and Deputy Mayor David Etzioni attended the event.
June. Ms. Muriel Bowser, Mayor of the District of Columbia (Washington) visited Haifa and met with Mayor Einat Kalisch Rotem. A cooperation agreement between Rambam Hospital and Washington's Children's National Main Hospital was signed during the visit.
June. A delegation from Fort Lauderdale (a twin city of Haifa's) headed by Mayor Dean Trantalis, visited Haifa. The delegation arrived to strengthen the relationship between the two cities and to examine cooperation possibilities between the ports of Fort Lauderdale and Haifa, in addition to promoting the opening in Haifa of a branch of Broward College, awarding degrees. Vice-Mayor David Etzioni was invited to Fort Lauderdale to take part in a maritime exhibition in October.
June. Vice and Acting Mayor, Mr. Nachshon Tzuk, met with Dr. Clifton Grima, Malta's Parliamentary Secretary for Youth & Sport . During the meeting, the two discussed possibilities for cooperation in the fields of sports, tourism and youth. In addition, the two discussed the initiative to build an Olympic-size swimming pool. After the visit, the minister's delegation stayed at Maccabi Sports Club.
April. A delegation from South America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Mexico) arrived in Haifa in order to learn about the economic, social and environmental impact on poverty, sustainability, culture, education, politics and economics, focusing on the world of entrepreneurship and innovation.
