More music, more shows, more flavors, more scents, more tours, and more exhibits characterized 2018's Holiday of Holidays Festival. The festival is an initiative of Beit HaGefen—an Arab-Jewish cultural center—and Haifa Municipality, who founded the festival, which spans three weekends every year in December, and takes place in Beit HaGefen and Wadi Nisnas.
This year it expanded beyond the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood, with some of the events taking place in the German Colony, with many additional tours in the area. The aim of the festival is to promote and foster tolerance and mutual respect through culture and art.
The main events included liturgical music concerts in churches; performance stages in Beit HaGefen and Wadi Nisnas; street performances; children theatre; Friday shows in Beit HaGefen Auditorium; the National Antique Fair and so on.
The gala opening at Haifa Auditorium included Around the Day in 80 Worlds—a singing, dancing and acting performance by Mot Pour Mot Group from Marseille, with special guests Ronny Someck, Yankele Pilzer and Rabia Khoury, and Omri—a festive concert of the Firqat Alnoor Orchestra, with guest vocalists Violet Salameh, Raymonde Abecassis and Natalie Peretz.
