May. Representatives from more than 30 universities in China participated in an academic fair held at the University of Haifa. The purpose of the fair was to expose Israeli students to the world of Chinese academia. Among other things, the fair offered a variety of student exchange programs, scholarships, Chinese language courses, and educational opportunities.
The event was launched by the Chinese Ministry of Education, the Chinese Embassy in Israel and the Council for Higher Education. It was the first time that Chinese universities came to Israel for the education fair.
Haifa University President, Professor Ron Rubin, said: "The choice made by Chinese university presidents to come to Haifa University is a great honor to Israeli academia in general and to us in particular. The cooperation between us and our Chinese colleagues is further testimony to the importance of Israel as a global knowledge super power."
