The Talented Haifa documentarist, Iris Zaki won the prestigious innovative film award at the ‘Visions du Reel’ Festival in Nion Switzerland for her documentary “Women in Sink” where she investigates Arab-Jewish social coexistence through a woman’s point of view.
The Czech Minister of Culture, Mr. Daniel Herman visited Haifa and was greeted by Mayor Yahav and Deputy Mayor Mrs. Hedva Almog who unveiled the new Vaclav Havel Sq. in the new Neot Peres neighborhood in South Westerm Haifa. Later on Mayor Yahav held a reception for the Czech delegation at City Hall.
A reception was held on the INS Trikand of the Indian Navy while it docked at the Haifa port on the 19th of August. The Indian ambassador to Israel was present as well as the ship’s captain, Mr. Vinay Kalia. Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Hedva Almog represented the city of Haifa.
The Consul General of France in Haifa and North Israel, Mr. Gilles Courregelongue is leaving his post and our city after 3 years of service.The consul was a close and trusted friend of the municipality and a key player in deepening the bonds of friendship between the city and French culture and business.
