San Francisco

January. Haifa and San Francisco are sister cities since 1973, and the last years have seen a boom in their relations.

Now, as the COVID-19 virus forced the city to conduct virtual connections, January 17 will see the two cities connect through art (and Zoom…). The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco will present a virtual tour of the exhibition Levi Strauss: A history of the American style, while Haifa Museum of Art and Haifa City Museum will give virtual tours of the exhibitions Spaces in Turmoil and What will the Neighbors say – History of the LGBTQ community in Haifa, respectively.

Attending the events will be San Francisco Mayor London Breed, Haifa Mayor Einat Kalisch Rotem, Consul General of the Pacific Northwest Shlomi Kofman, and Chair of San Francisco-Haifa Sister City Committee Bob Tandler. The event will include live conversation and Q&A moderated by DC Matan Zamir.
